Urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR)

Urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) is a GPI-linked single chain glycoprotein that binds both the zymogen single chain pro-uPA and the enzymatically active two chain, high molecular weight uPA. uPAR has been found to be localized in sections of solid tumors of various human cancers and it is overexpressed in extracts of invasive breast, colorectal- and ovarian cancer tissues.
