Alpha-synuclein Simoa (A-Syn Simoa)
Alpha-synuclein (A-Syn) is a 140 amino acid member of the synuclein family that is highly expressed in the human brain. It appears to be localized primarily to the presynaptic region where it may function in vesicle trafficking and the regulation of dopamine release and transport. Alpha-synuclein is implicated in several neurodegenerative disorders including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and multiple system atrophy.
