A group of scientists have published new research on a panel of biomarkers, discovered using DNA microarrays and validated using qPCR, which can discriminate between cancerous and non-cancerous samples for colorectal cancer. The seven-gene profile that was identified had nearly 95% accuracy. Interestingly, using pathway analysis, six of the seven genes were involved in the tumor necrosis factor network and related to other known cancer pathways.
