Cancer Antigen 19-9 Fibrosis (CA-19-9 Fibrosis)
Cancer Antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9; sialyl-Lewis) is a tetra-saccharide usually attached to O-glycans on the cell surface whose function is vital in cell-to-cell recognition processes. It is primarily used diagnostically as a tumor marker for pancreatic cancer. Often complexed to mucins, CA 19-9 is a potential prognostic biomarker of epithelial damage for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
