Angiopoietin-related protein 3 (ANGPTL3)
ANGPTL3 is a secreted glycoprotein structurally related to the angiopoietins; consisting of a signal peptide, N-terminal coiled-coil domain and the C-terminal fibrinogen (FBN)-like domain. ANGPTL3 is predominantly expressed in the liver and involved in regulating triglyceride metabolism by inhibiting lipolysis of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. ANGPTL3 plays an important role in lipid metabolism and is also involved in angiogenesis.
