Leptin Receptor (Leptin-R)
Binding of leptin to its receptor plays a role in the regulation of fat metabolism as well as hematopoietic pathways. Circulating leptin receptors play a role in regulating free leptin. Soluble Leptin receptor levels are indirectly proportional to adiposity and higher in females. Soluble Leptin receptor is upregulated in chronic heart failure, renal disease and anorexia.
