Lumican (Lumican)

Lumican belongs to the Small Leucine-rich Proteoglycan (SLRP) family/Class II subfamily of proteins. Lumican is the major keratan sulfate proteoglycan of the cornea, but it is also distributed in interstitial collagenous matrices throughout the body, extracellular matrix, and other tissues. Lumican shows involvement in proliferation during embryonic development, wound healing, inflammatory responses, and the growth and metastasis of some cancers.
