Aldose Reductase (Aldose Reductase)
Aldose reductase is an enzyme involved in carbohydrate metabolism, particularly for glucose. It is present in liver, seminal vesicles, lens, retina, Schwaan cells, placenta, and red blood cells. Because of its involvement in glucose metabolism, aldose reductase may play a role in diabetes.
