Mesothelin (MSLN)
Mesothelin (MSLN) is a 40-kDa cell surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in pancreatic cancers, ovarian cancers, mesotheliomas, and others. The mesothelin gene encodes a 69-kDa precursor protein that is processed to a 40-kDa membrane-bound protein termed mesothelin and a 31-kDa shed fragment called megakaryocyte-potentiating factor (MPF) that is released from the cell.
