Cellular Fibronectin (cFib)

Cellular Fibronectin (cFib) is a member of a family of fibronectins which are large glycoproteins involved in cell adhesion, tissue organization and wound healing. cFib is made by fibroblasts and epithelial cells and differs in the ED-A and ED-B domains from plasma fibronectin. Increased cFib levels may be found in cases of vascular injury such as vasculitis, sepsis, acute trauma, diabetes, and ischemic stroke.
