Insulin-like Growth Factor II (IGF-II)
Insulin-like Growth Factor II (IGF-II) is believed to be produced by the liver and has insulin-like activities. IGF-II may be an important fetal growth factor. IGF-II binds the IGF-I Receptor and mediates growth in the same way that IGF-1 does. However, IGF-II alone binds the IGF II receptor (also called the Mannose-6 phosphate receptor), that appears to be a non-signaling receptor.
