Interleukin-23 (IL-23)
Interleukin-23 (IL-23) is a heterodimeric cytokine formed by the association of IL-23 subunit alpha with IL-12 beta. Produced by dendritic cells and macrophages, IL-23 is important in the inflammatory response to infections. IL-23 may also play a role in multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and the development of cancerous tumors.
