Human Chorionic Gonadotropin beta (hCG)

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin beta (hCGb) is a 244 amino acid glycoprotein that is produced by the placenta during pregnancy. hCGb interacts with the LHCG receptor and causes the corpus luteum to secrete progesterone. Elevated levels of the hCGb hormone are measured in some types of cancer.
